May 4 2026 Home Built in 1920 Valparaiso Roof Replacement

This customer is a relative of our Production Manager, Sara. They reached out to get a quote due to a leak that developed in their home. David went out to this Valparaiso home and found that this older home had some unique issues, along with needing a roof replacement. The ventilation definitely needed some updating. With this particular home, we had to use several different types of vents, due to the different pitches.
On the 12/12 we used an edge vent to ridge vent system, on the garage, we kept the box vents as this area is not heated or cooled, and on the 3/12 area, we added a ridge vent that is designed for lower pitched roofs. To help protect the 3/12 areas, we also installed ice and water shield and synthetic to the entire facet, per CertainTeed's specifications, to ensure the roof would last for years to come. We also had to do an additional work order to resheet the lower slope, add some new sheeting on the 10/12 area, added a new B Vent flashing, and some areas of roof to wall flashing that did not exist.
